The Seat Leon is recovering engines after the change of homologations
The German manufacturer Volkswagen, with all the brands of cars it includes, has been one of the most "has suffered" with the change of homologations and the new cycle WLTP. Many were the models that were slowly losing motorizations, such as the Seat Leon , which now begins to return to normal with an updated mechanical range.
Said change of homologations has led to the Spanish compact has offered new mechanics , highlighting the arrival of the new engine 1.5 TSI Evo and 1.0 TSI three-cylinder. To this we must add a new version of the famous 2.0 TSI block of the Volkswagen house. We are going by parts.
According to the brand configurator based in Martorell, the Seat Leon is currently available with no less than nine finishes (although four of them are actually finished and the rest packages added in a promotional way) and several mechanical diesel and gasoline. Let's see how the current mechanical range is organized
Seat Leon with gasoline engine
The > Access version in the gasoline range uses a 1.0 TSI 115 hp three-cylinder engine, replacing the previous 1.2 TSI four-cylinder that was placed as an option to open the range.
Previously, the mid-range of gasoline in the Seat Leon was made up of the block 1.4 TSI in versions of 125 and 150 HP while, now, this engine has been replaced by the new 1.5 TSI Evo in versions of 130 and 150 HP, being able to use manual or double clutch in the most powerful.
In the highest finish , the 2.0 TSI block lands, yielding a maximum power of 190 HP and being associated with the DSG change. This is the top of the range if we do not take into account the Sport Seat Leon Cupra, which, incidentally, uses this same engine block.
Seat Leon with diesel engine
The diesel range now starts with the veteran 1.6 TDI engine in 115 HP version, being available with both manual and DSG.
The famous 2.0 TDI of the Volkswagen group is also offered again in the Seat León, although we still expect more versions to arrive. At the moment, and according to the configurator of the Spanish brand, this model can only be configured with this engine in 150 HP version and DSG change. The logical thing would be that soon it was on sale with manual and also in a 190 HP version.
