The Ares Design Project Panther pays homage to the spirit of the original De Tomaso Panther through the body and engine of a current Lamborghini Huracán

The Ares Design Project Panther pays tribute to De Tomaso Pantera

Ares Design Project Panther

The Italian design studio Ares Design is in the limelight these days. The reason for this is the official arrival of the revival of a mythical model of the automobile sector. We already knew this product, although in a conceptual version, it was revealed a little over a year ago. However, it has not been until now that the Ares Design Project Panther has been officially presented.

The Ares Design Project Panther regains the spirit De Tomaso Pantera 1970. For this, its creators have focused attention on those details that made a collector's piece of the original model. Thus, we find elements such as Fully retractable LED headlights or a very light body. But best of all, is that under his skin, are the mechanical organs of an Italo-German supercar.

Ares Design restores the spirit of the De Tomaso Panther

 From Tomaso Pantera 1973

The technical basis for developing the Ares Design Project Panther is Lamborghini Huracán . However, the design studio has created a completely new body. Thanks to the use of carbon fiber, the Project Panther is longer and narrower than the Hurricane. To this, it must be added that it has Full LED retractable headlights . These, are prohibited, but being a model of low production, you can skip certain safety standards.

At the level of chassis there are no differences with the Hurricane, although Ares has introduced improvements in the electronic control unit of the engine and a new exhaust system. In any case, we find the V10 gasoline block of 5.2 liters that now yields 650 HP of power and 600 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. The transmission is still automatic double clutch with seven ratios. Finally, the power reaches the ground through the four wheels.

Thanks to this set, the benefits of the Ares Design Project Panther are of real missile. Accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.1 seconds and sign a maximum speed of 325 kilometers per hour . These figures are possible thanks to a final scale weight of only 1,423 kilos and a distribution of 43 - 57 percent on each axis. Finally, it has a coefficient of aerodynamic penetration of 0.32 Cx.

The Lamborghini Hurricane can be seen inside

 Ares Design Project Panther

If on the outside the hand of Ares Design has been noticed, inside not so much . We say it, because the cockpit of the Project Panther stays true to the one that looks Lamborghini Huracán . We notice this in the provision (and conservation) of a large part of the controls and controls. In addition, they have scrupulously respected the configurable digital instrumentation used by the Italian-German sports team.

Where there are changes in some materials and appli cations. The most striking correspond to the trim of the dashboard or the upholstery in Alcantara of the seats. All in all, the first Ares Design Project Panther are now ready to reach the hands of their lucky (and wealthy) owners.
